My boyfriend and I both decided to make something for each other for Christmas this year. I’m looking to spend $50 and want to do something creative and memmorable. Need good ideas! Been together 6 months and are in out 20s thanks!
Wish I knew what your skills are, so many cute things to do.
Do you sew? Acrylic blanket[there is a no sew tied version] in his sports team’s theme, or with his hobby on it, or just glen plaid. A vest, a hat and scarf, a tie are other ideas. A craft, like a cute stuffed animal, or a lounge chair organizer for the TV guide and remote. Look at Simplicity or Butterick patterns online for ideas.
Take a picture of yourselves, and make a frame. Buy one at the store and decorate it, pick a Xmas theme, glue holiday decorations on it, like little pine cones and berries and greenery. Or glue on shells. Paint it, or gilt it.
Go see Santa, a friend did this, and got a pic of the two of them on Santa’s knee, and had it framed and gave it as gifts to the family. Cute.
Or make a shadow memory box, they sell them at craft stores. You put in pictures, and little objects that remind you of your relationship. A friend is doing one for her daughter about her wedding, it will include decorations, favors, the menu card.
Food is always a good thing, except if the person has allergies, pour homemade fudge in a tin from the store, make homemade candies, gourmet brownies, white or chocolate pretzels. Home made jam, in a decorated jar.
Make a tiny Xmas tree all his own, if he has a hobby or interest, decorate it with that. A friend has a firefighter for a husband, her tree has firefighter Santa’s and trucks. Another has a John Deere fanatic for a husband, their decor features collectibles from that. Or just use peppermint striped ornaments, or make Santa a theme. A friend made a memory tree, she took photos of her friends, bought little frames at the craft store, and those became the ornaments. You could do that if you have pics of the two of you, or use photos of places you have been. Note, she has them on a 4 foot tree.
A home made Xmas stocking, used as part of the gift and the presentation of a gift would be cute. Be as creative as your skills allow, use sequins or beads to help decorate. One I saw was felt, and they had fashioned little dacron fiberfill stuffed felt ornaments to hang on it from the cuff.
They sell kits at the store for fancy ones, and there is a pattern for them available in the pattern books, or do a velvet and fur one on your own, the fabric store sells both. Make one for both of you.

Michael’s sells a glass etching kit, you could buy toasting glasses, and etch a design or initials. Make a little sprig of holly for the stem.You can etch glass ornaments, too.
Start an hand made ornament collection, like etched glass, or beaded, or purchased. Select a theme. So what if all you are capable of is a glass ornament from Walmart, the kind that is a dozen for $4, and write your names in glue and glitter on it.
Make a Xmas kissing ball. Forms available at the craft store, in fake evergreen, or do one yourself with a styrofoam ball as the base. Make it as elaborate or as colorfull as you want.
Buy an amaryllis bulb and a pot to put it in at the store, or buy a Xmas cactus. These can be trained to bloom at Xmas. so can other types of bulbs.
